Take on Life in the Toyota Highlander

When drivers need a rugged midsize SUV with the capability to back up its good look, they turn to the Toyota Highlander. Launching its fourth generation in 2020, this vehicle is getting even more appealing. There are five different trim levels to choose from, known as the L, LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum. At Toyota World Clinton, we want to tell you about a few of our favorite Highlander features.

Standout Features of the New Toyota Highlander

On the tech-front, the Highlander comes standard with both Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. This makes it simple to sync your phone with your SUV, allowing you to listen to music, access your messages, look up maps, and more. Also standard is an 8-inch touchscreen for accessing it all. The top-of-the-line Platinum trim upgrades to an impressive 12.3-inches. Satellite radio is standard for all models, and going with the LE trim or higher gives you HD radio as well.

With room for up to eight passengers, the Highlander is an excellent choice for families of all sizes. It comes standard with tri-zone automatic climate control to make sure everyone can feel comfortable. For those who do not need room for eight people, you can opt for comfy second-row captain's chairs on select models as well.

All models of the Highlander also get Toyota's Safety Sense™ 2.0 safety suite. Some of the safety features you will find include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Traffic Sign Recognition
  • Automatic High Beams
  • Head's Up Display
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Lane Trace Assist

Safety Sense™ 2.0 also includes a pre-collision warning system that has both pedestrian and cyclist detection. More safety features are also available to you, depending on the model you select. These include parking sensors, a surround-view camera, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert.

As for power, the Highlander will not leave you wanting. All models are powered by a V6 engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Although front-wheel-drive is standard across the board, all-wheel-drive is available on any model as well.
